RECAP: Northwood Men's Basketball drops a 78-62 contest to Thomas More to open conference play Wednesday night (November 29).
GAME STORY
- Northwood scored the first two points of the game, but that proved to be the Timberwolves lone lead of the contest.
- With Thomas More leading 9-7, the Saints put up a 12-2 run to take a 21-9 lead.
- The Timberwolves fought back at that point, as that 12-point advantage for Thomas More was their biggest of the first half.
- NU cut the lead down to five later in the half before Thomas more held a 36-26 lead at the break.
- Northwood's first half free throw shooting was a key part of the deficit, as the Timberwolves were just 1-9 from the line in the opening 20 minutes.
- The Timberwolves made a run in the second half, getting the lead all the way down to four at 50-46 with 12:48 remaining.
- NU trailed 57-49 with 9:42 remaining when the Saints made a run to close out the victory. TMU scored 10 straight and 15 of the next 19 points to take a 72-53 lead with 3:29 to go.
