GAME STORY
- The offenses came out slow to start the contest – Ashland led 10-9 nine minutes into the game.
- That is when the Eagles got hot, scoring 21 points in just six minutes. That allowed Ashland to push its lead to as many as 13 at 33-20 with just over five minutes remaining.
- Northwood responded with a strong finish, scoring 12 of the final 17 points to cut the AU lead to 38-32 at the break.
- Ashland's lead stood at 51-45 with under 10 minutes remaining when the Eagles posted the key run of the game. Ashland scored 12 of the next 14 points to push their advantage to 63-47 with 5:45 remaining.
- Northwood got no closer than 14 the rest of the way. AU led by as many as 22 before winning by 18.
