Men's Golf Rides Record Breaking Performance To A First Place Tie At Music City

RECAP: Northwood men's golf used a record-breaking performance at the Music City Invite to tie for first place overall Monday-Tuesday (April 16-17).

INSIDE THE EVENT

  • Northwood shot team scores of 283-280 to finish at 563 overall (-13 overall).
  • Tiffin (281-282) and Delta State (285-278) also finished at 563 to share first place with Northwood
  • A total of 13 teams took part in the event.

TOP NU PERFORMERS

  • Evan Johnson: 70-69=139 – tied for eighth overall. Fourth straight top-10 finish.
  • Viktor Nibell: 73-66=139 – tied for eighth
  • Kosuke Tojo: 69-73=142 – tied for 21st
  • A total of 69 players competed in the tournament.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • Northwood set a total of three records in the event. The Timberwolves set new team standards for low 18-hole team score at 280 (-8) and 36-hole team score at 563 (-13). The old records were 284 and 577, respectively.
  • Nibell tied the school record for low individual score in program history with his final-round 66. Nibell is the eighth player in program history to shoot a 66.
