Men’s Lacrosse Earns Home Win Over Tiffin, 15-7

LOCATION: Hantz Stadium – Midland, Mich.
RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse was back in Midland on Tuesday (March 18). The Timberwolves took on Tiffin in Hantz Stadium, coming away with a 15-7 win, marking the team's first win in conference play.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood pressed the issue in the first quarter. Cole Williams started the scoring before goals a duo of goals from both Andrew Rogers and Ryder Mulvey gave the Timberwolves the 5-0 advantage to start the day.
- Dylan Ayotte capped the 6-0 scoring run at the 3:19 mark of the first.
- The Dragons did add one later in the first quarter, but Northwood set the tone for the first half, leading 6-1 after the first.
- Less than 40 seconds into the second, William Forrester extended the Timberwolves lead to 7-1.
- Northwood continued to take control of the match. NU's defense stood tall, shutting the Dragons' offense out in the second quarter. The Timberwolves finished the first half with a 4-0 scoring run, opening the lead to 10-1 at the break. Northwood had four players with two goals (Forrester, Mulvey, Rogers, and Williams) in the first half.
- Out of the break, Williams' hat trick goal extended Northwood's lead to 10 at 14:32 of the third.
- Down 10, Tiffin scored four unanswered, cutting the NU lead to 11-5 at the (:58 mark of the third.
- The teams went scoreless for the next seven minutes of game action. Tiffin held momentum until Northwood broke it at 2:06 with Forrester's hat trick, 12-5 NU.
- Moving to the fourth. Tiffin cut the deficit to six before Northwood retook momentum. Rogers and Mulvey became the third and fourth NU players to record a hat trick during the match. Northwood went on to get the 15-7 win for the first win in conference play.
