Men's Soccer Drops Contest At Walsh 1-0

The Northwood University men's soccer team falls 1-0 at Walsh Friday afternoon (October 11).

Northwood is now 4-5 overall, 4-4 in the GLIAC.  Walsh is now 4-6 overall, 4-4 in the GLIAC.

NU fell to a 1-0 deficit after Walsh netted a shot from a throw-in late in the first half. The Timberwolves tallied six shots to the nine taken by Walsh in the first 45 minutes. Northwood also trailed in corner kicks 3-1.

The second half proved to be extremely physical, with Northwood earning five yellow cards. The Timberwolves increased attacking pressure as well in an attempt to tie the game, but were unable to net the equalizer. NU recorded ten shots to the three taken by the Cavaliers.

Northwood finished with an advantage in shots 16-12, while falling short on corner kicks 5-1. Timberwolves keeper, Johannes Sterobo (Odense, Denmark / Tornbjerg) tallied four saves in the loss. Freshman Dalton Amez (Macomb, Mich. / Chippewa Valley) recorded two shots on goal in the contest.

Northwood will travel to Malone Sunday (October 13). Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.
