Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Contest To Ohio Dominican

The Northwood University men's soccer team fell to top-ranked Ohio Dominican 2-1 on Friday evening (October 25).

The Timberwolves fall to 4-7-1, 4-6-1 in the GLIAC, as the Panthers improve to 9-2-2 and 8-2-1 to lead the GLIAC.

NU struck early in this match, and early is an understatement. Keaton Levock (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) began the play just 3:41 into the first half, serving in a corner kick to Liam MacHugh (Toronto, Canada/Neil McNeil). On a rebound from MacHugh's blocked shot, senior Brent Schmid (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower) finished the ball at 3:53 to score his first goal of the season. Northwood continued to apply pressure taking an additional seven shots to Ohio Dominican's four, to end the half with the lead 1-0.

Unfortunately, that lead would not carry throughout the second half. The Panthers tied the match on a penalty kick in the 71st minute and recorded the go-ahead goal just ten minutes later. Northwood was held scoreless for the remaining 84 minutes after netting the first goal of the match, in spite of taking 16 shots (including seven on goal).

The Timberwolves will travel to Findlay on Sunday (October 27) with a start time set for Noon.
