The Northwood University men's soccer team saw its 2013 season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Lake Erie Tuesday afternoon (November 5).
It marked the third time this season Northwood lost to Lake Erie by a matching 1-0 score. NU finishes the season 5-10-1 overall in the GLIAC. Lake Erie improves to 8-7-2 with the win.
The game went to halftime tied 0-0, despite Lake Erie not registering a shot. The Timberwolves held a 6-0 edge in shot in the half.
The lone goal of the contest came in the 59th minute on a breakaway. Northwood had seven shots after the Storm took the lead, but they were unable to net the equalizer.
For the game, Northwood finished with a 19-6 advantage in shots. Lake Erie finished with a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore James DeCosemo (Stokesley, England) registered 10 shots for the game.
