RECAP: The Northwood men's soccer team finished their three-match homestand with a loss to the visiting Saints from Thomas More on Wednesday (October 4) 2-1.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Timberwolves and Saints seemed to be virtually an even match for each other, although TMU had the edge in shots (8-5), and the Timberwolves had the edge in corners (4-2) going into the halftime break.
- Just under six minutes into the second half, the Saints capitalized on a deflected corner that fell to the feet of an open Saint. They would score to go up 1-0 early in the second half.
- The Saints would later capitalize on a two-on-one break away down the left post. A pass to the open man extended the lead to 2-0, TMU.
- Northwood kept themselves in it, getting themselves on the board in the 84'. Owen Turner's header from Amedeo Crovasce on a corner put Northwood on the board. Turner's goal is the first of his career as he played in his 44th match.
- NU's goal would be the last of any scoring as the Timberwolves would later fall 2-1.
