RECAP: The Northwood men's soccer team visited the Walsh Cavaliers on Saturday (October 14). The Timberwolves came out of North Canton with their third G-MAC victory, 2-1.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Through the first half of a wet and slippery game, Walsh had the edge in shot attempts 6-4 as well as 5-1 in corner opportunities.
  • Oliver Jarvis and Adrian Lekocaj teamed up to break the scoreless match in the 59'. The left-to-right cross seemed to be Northwood's bread and butter for both men's and women's soccer. NU capitalized on an errant pass by the Cavs goalkeeper as a crashing Quinn led Lekocaj with a pass toward the left post that he intercepted for the match's and his first career goal.
  • The Cavs would score the equalizer in the 66' off a curve ball from 20 yards out, 1-1.
  • All three of the match's goals were scored within 10 minutes of game time. A foul by Walsh's goalkeeper in the 18-yard box allowed the Timberwolves to take the lead. Jarvis would give NU the lead for good with his G-MAC-leading 10th goal of the season.
  • Jarvis is the first player since 2015 (James DeCosemo – 13, Keaton Levock – 12, and Mayowa Olufeko – 10) to have at least 10 goals in a single season.
