RECAP: The Northwood men's soccer team headed south on a two-match road trip. To start, they would first battle the Oilers in Findlay, Ohio. During the match, the Timberwolves would win in dramatic fashion as a buzzer-beating goal would give them a 4-3 win.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Both teams got the offense going early, the Oilers would be the first to put a goal on the board. UF's pressure toward the right post forced Nu's goalkeeper to guess the shot direction. Their shot would score off a deflected save attempt in the 11'.
  • Northwood answered right back with pressure of their own. The Timberwolves' Amedeo Crovasce followed a saved shot by UF's goalkeeper with a consecutive shot to tie it in the 14'.
  • One minute following NU's equalizer, the Oilers answered right back. A free kick from just left of the 18-yard box skipped off an Oilers header into the upper right corner, 2-1 UF.
  • The early scoring didn't stop there. Northwood's Seamus Quinn intercepted Findlay's attempt to play by to the goalie. Quinn would outrace the Findlay defenders and score on a deflected save attempt, 2-2.
  • The offense calmed a bit as defenses settled in. It wouldn't be until the 70' that the Oilers would take the lead following a cross from the right side.
  • The name of the game for the Timberwolves was how they answered an Oilers goal. Similar to the previous two, NU scored a few moments later. Crovasce's free kick from just outside the right corner of the 18-yard was knocked in by a crashing Owen Turner in the 73'.
  • A wild finish would ensue in the final minute. With 19 seconds on the game clock, NU goalkeeper Robert Gjelaj gained possession in the box and played it to Crovasce on the right. His booming cross to Quinn down the left sideline gave him time to get in position for the Timberwolves' one last offensive attack.
  • With 10 seconds left, Quinn passed it to the top of the box to Theirno Doucoure, then to a crashing Crovasce on the left side, and with just three seconds on the clock, he lasered it into the top left corner to secure NU the three conference points.
