RECAP: Men's soccer finished their regular season on Tuesday (October 31) with a draw versus visiting Ashland, 1-1.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Both teams battled to a 0-0 score at halftime. At the half, Ashland had the advantage in shots 7-6, but teams were tied in corner opportunities 4-4.
  • It was back-and-forth for much of the second half as well, before a free kick for Northwood from 35 yards out gave them enough chaos in the box for Seamus Quinn to get a pass from Oliver Jarvis in the 68'. Quinn's goal put Northwood up 1-0.
  • Moments later, Ashland capitalized on a Northwood offside call. This, in the 70', an Eagles' drive toward the right post earned them a shot opportunity that scored off NU's goalkeeper's attempted save.
  • Following AU's equalizer, the Northwood defense entered bend but did not break mode. The Eagles managed seven of the final nine shots of the game in the last 20 minutes. NU's defense would hold on as teams would come to a draw.
