Men's Soccer Places Three Athletes On All-Conference Teams

FULL G-MAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONOREES RELEASE

MIDLAND, MICH. – The men's soccer team had three individuals recognized as All-Conference honorees by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) on Wednesday (November 8). Oliver Jarvis (Staffordshire, England) and goalkeeper Robert Gjelaj (Bruce Township, Mich.) were among the First Team honorees, while Amedeo Crovasce (West Bloomfield, Mich.) took home Second Team honors.

Northwood's all-time saves leader, Gjelaj, finished fourth nationally in DII with 97 saves. He led the conference by 29 saves and was second in save percentage (.782 – 37th in DII). Gjelaj was Northwood's rock in front of the net. He broke NU's all-time saves record midway through the season and currently holds the record with 319 for his career.

Jarvis was one of Northwood's best offensive weapons. He led the team in goals (10 – t-35th in DII) and points (24) this season. In the conference, he was second in goals, first in goals per game (.667 – 34th in DII), and second in points. Jarvis is the first Northwood player since 2015 (James DeCosemo – 13, Keaton Levock – 12, and Mayowa Olufeko – 10) with at least ten goals in a single season.

Northwood's final All-Conference honoree, Crovasce, was a speedster on the outside. His six goals were second on the team, but his six assists tied for second in the conference. He finished ninth in the G-MAC in points (18), including a five-point match at Findlay on October 26, where he drove the length of the field in the waning seconds to score a game-winner at the buzzer.

Northwood men's soccer (6-8-4, 5-6-3 G-MAC) finished ninth in the G-MAC this season, just missing out on the conference tournament.
