Bio

Ross Gibson is in his third season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Northwood University. During the 2017 season, the Timberwolves went on to win the GLIAC Championship.

Prior to Northwood, Gibson coached Saginaw Valley State University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams, as well as serving as the Head Coach and Director of Academy Operations at Nationals Soccer, one of Michigan’s largest travel clubs.

After moving to the United States in 2011, Gibson was a member at Nothland United in Big Rapids, Mich. as the Director of Coaching/Soccer Operations, in addition to serving as the Assistant Coach for the boy’s and girl’s soccer teams at Big Rapids High School. Eventually Gibson moved to Freeland Force as Director of Coaching and began his position as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach.

During his time in England before coming to the U.S. Gibson took a position at Scunthorpe United, a English professional side, as the joint Head Coach of their U14 Academy team. He also assisted the U16s/U18s by producing performance statistics and video analysis. Gibson achieved his FA Youth Academy Award and the UEFA B License.

Gibson began his coaching stint with the U18s Semi Professional Team of North Ferriby Utd in England. After a season with Ferriby, he took on a coaching position with Hull City, a Professional English Premier League Team, and coached their Youth Academy for the U12s and U16s youth teams. Gibson earned his Level 1 and Level 2 FA Coaching Licences.

Gibson is from Hull City, England, and currently resides in Freeland, Mich. with his wife.
