Bio

One of the finest defenders in program history, Luke Ruff is in his third season on the Northwood University men’s soccer staff. As a full-time assistant for the program, Northwood University has won the 2015 and 2016 GLIAC Tournament, as well as being the 2016 GLIAC regular season Champions. The Timberwolves hosted the first two rounds of the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Tournament, as well as advancing to the 2016 Sweet Sixteen.

Ruff is also the Owner and Director of Coaching at the Mid-Michigan PSG. He serves as the 00 Boys Coach for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and has achieved FA Level 2, USSF National D and E License and is the Camp Director at CPT.

As a player at Northwood University, Ruff was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year and Daktronic First Team All-Region following the 2012 campaign. He also earned NSCAA All-Region and First Team All-GLIAC honors both junior and senior year. In addition, Ruff was named Second Team All-GLIAC his sophomore year and was a two-year captain for the Timberwolves.

For his career, Ruff played in 41 matches and finished with a 26-18-10 record. During that stretch, the Timberwolves allowed a total of just 75 goals for 1.4 goals per game.

A native of Bradford City, England, and graduate of Northwood University, Ruff currently lives in Midland with his wife Mallory.
