RECAP: Sixth-seeded Northwood drops 4-1 match to No. 3 seed Drury in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday afternoon (May 11).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • Northwood got off to a good start in doubles, winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots to earn the double point. The team of Hayden Drury and David Reinauerp won 6-4 at the No. 2 position, while Ben Brandherm and Ivan Medvynskyi picked up a 6-3 victory at the No. 3 match.
  • Drury responded to the early deficit by being the better team in singles, picking up straight-set wins at the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 positions.
  • NU was up a set at No. 3 singles (6-3) and was tied in the No. 4 match (6-6).
