One of the legends of coaching in NCAA Tennis history, Zane Colestock is the head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Northwood University. His teams are consistently among the best in the nation.

He won a combined 35 GLIAC Championships between his men's and women's programs (22 men, 13 women). Colestock has also been named the GLIAC Coach of the Year 20 times (15 men, five women) and finished his career with a remarkable 1003-283 overall combined record.

Colestock finished his career as the men's coach with a record of 646-199 (.764) in dual matches. Colestock has coached two national players of the year and has tutored nationally ranked singles and doubles squads during his prestigious tenure. In 2002, the men's tennis team finished a school-record third in the nation falling in the national semifinals to Drury. Northwood finished fourth in the country during the 2000 season. During this period, Zane has produced many All-Americans and have participated in 37 national tournaments, won 20 straight GLIAC championships, and 13 NAIA District titles. Under his direction, the T-Wolves have posted 40 consecutive winning campaigns, including one perfect season. Colestock guided Marek Kolar to a Hall of Fame career at Northwood. Kolar was the ITA National Senior Player of the Year, a four-time All-GLIAC honoree and a two-time GLIAC Player of the Year. In 2006, Colestock coached Teddy Mebounou to the Division II title at the ITA Small College Championships, making Mebounou the first No. 1 player in the nation in School history. Mebounou also went on to be named the ITA Senior National Player of the Year, becoming the second player under Colestock to earn that honor after Kolar.

Colestock has earned the NCAA Midwest Coach of the Year award in 1997 and 1998. Zane has also been named the NAIA District Coach of the Year on 13 occasions.

On the women's side, Colestock went 357-84 (.809) while guiding Northwood to 12 Championships. His 2003 team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, the highest finish in program history. In 2001, Colestock’s team won the first GLIAC title in school history. He also earned the first of his five GLIAC Coach of the Year honors on the women’s side. Colestock has also coached six GLIAC Players of the Year and six GLIAC Freshmen of the Year as well as Carina Kampfer to ITA Senior Player of the Award honors. The women's team has also been named an ITA All-Academic 13 straight seasons.
