Men's Track & Field Ranked #16 In USTFCCCA Preseason Rankings

MIDLAND, MICH – The Northwood men's indoor track and field team is ranked No. 16 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national preseason rankings released Tuesday (December 11).

The men have 40.87 computed points in the poll. This is the first time the men's indoor track and field team has been ranked in the preseason poll and the highest national ranking in school history. The men are also the No. 3 team in the GLIAC to be nationally ranked.

The Timberwolves have three NCAA provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Pittsburg, KS March 8-9, 2019. Sophomore Mason Phillips is ranked first in the 200 meters (21.11 seconds) and tied for first in the 60 meters (6.76 seconds). Sophomore Brian Patrick is ranked No. 16 in the 5000 meters at 14:21.88.

The indoor track and field teams will return to action January 11, 2019 at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open.
