Men's Track & Field Ranked #23 In Latest USTFCCCA National Rankings

MIDLAND, MICH – The Northwood men's track and field team is back in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings, coming in at No. 23 in this week's edition released Tuesday (April 9) afternoon.

This is the first week the team has been nationally ranked during the outdoor season with 54.18 computer points. They have jumped up 60 spots from last week's poll.

The Timberwolves climbed back into the Top 25 nationally due to multiple NCAA provisional performances from the sprints squad at the Gibson Invitational. Sophomore Mason Phillips is ranked fifth at 200 meters (13.99 computer points) and sixth in the 100 (11.70). Senior Rami Gharsalli brings 18.52 points individually as he is ranked third in the 110 meter hurdles. Ranked seventh nationally is the 4x100 relay (9.97) of freshman Andrew Davis, junior Christopher Bent, Gharsalli and Phillips.

The Timberwolves will send split squads between three meets this weekend – the Knight Open Friday and Saturday (April 12-13), the Walsh Invitational Saturday and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic Saturday and Sunday (April 14).
