Track & Field Teams, Five Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA Academic Awards

MIDLAND, MICH. – Both Northwood track & field programs and several student-athletes received national recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their efforts academically.

The women's team earned a cumulative team GPA of 3.32, while the men ended the year with a 3.11 GPA. Both programs were selected as All-Academic teams after achieving at least a 3.0 during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

The men's program also had five individual student-athletes garner All-Academic recogntion - Stephen Barker, Christopher Bent, Chase Clark, Rami Gharsalli and Dylan Rocha. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
