Men's Track & Field Earns Three All-Americans in Four Events From the USTFCCCA

USTFCCCA Release

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's track & field team had three student-athletes earn Indoor Track & Field All-America honors in four events from the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Sophomore Josiah Morse (800 meters), Mason Phillips (60 meters/200 meters) and Xzavia Price (60 meters) all earned recognition.

All-Americans are normally decided by the results of the NCAA Championships. Due to the cancellation of the event in 2020, all athletes who were on the startlist for the championships will earn All-America honors without team distinction (First Team, Second Team, Honorable Mention).

Morse finished the year ranked No. 11 in the 800 meter run. He clocked a 1:51.05 at the GVSU Big Meet February 14 to earn a spot in the event.

Phillips had an excellent chance to earn a pair of national titles before the cancellation of the meet. He ran a 6.65 in the 60 and a 20.76 in the 200 at the GLIAC Championships for his best times of the year. He was ranked first in the 200 and second in the 60 heading to the championship meet.

Price placed second behind Phillips in the 60 at the GLIAC Championships with a time of 6.78. That time ranked him 15th in the event.

A total of 716 honors were awarded out to 117 different institutions.
