Mason Phillips and Xzavia Price Earn All-America Honors At NCAA Indoor Championships
OVERVIEW – NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOCATION: Birmingham, Alabama
RECAP: Mason Phillips and Xzavia Price combine for three top-five finishes, leading Northwood to an eleventh-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships March 11-13.
INSIDE THE MEET – MEN
- Both Phillips and Price each competed in the 60 meter dash. Phillips placed second overall with a time of 6.73, while Price was fifth at 6.81. That gave Northwood 12 points alone in the event
- Phillips picked up another second place finish in the 200, clocking a season-best time of 20.89.
- Those results gave Northwood a total of 20 points, good for 11th place overall. That is the highest finish for NU at the championships in program history. The GLIAC had the top-two teams in the championship, with Ashland placing first (70 points) and Grand Valley State finishing second (53 points).
NORTHWOOD NOTES
- Phillips has now been an All-American 11 times in his legendary Northwood career.
- Price has been an All-American twice now, earning the honor two years in a row in the 60 meters at the indoor championships.
