Track & Field Programs Earn Academic Honors From the USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, LA. - The Northwood University men's and women's track & field teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Collegiate Academic Awards Thursday (July 22).

Both the men and the women were named All-Academic teams. Individually, five men were honored as All-Academic athletes.

For the teams to be recognized, The cumulative GPA (not 2020-21 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, certifiable by the institution's registrar. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].

The men's program finished with a 3.198 GPA, while the women had a 3.296 GPA.

For the individual honor, student-athletes must have at least a 3.25 GPA and achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.

Zane Aldrich, Stephen Barker, Josiah Morse, Nathan Powers and Travis Schepers all stood out in competition and in the classroom for Northwood to be named All-Academic athletes.
