Five Athletes Earn All-Conference Honors For Men's Track & Field

Full G-MAC Indoor All-Conference Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – Five members of Northwood men's track & field earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) All-Conference accolades Tuesday (March 21). Representativces are senior Zechariah Stickler (Clare, Mich.) and sophomore Dillan Haviland (St. Johns, Mich.) with First team honors. Sophomores Josh Jones (Harrison, Mich.), Preston Earl (Sterling Heights, Mich.), and Thomas Heslip (Flushing, Mich.) earned third-team recognition.

This indoor season saw four Northwood (Weight Throw, Mile, 3000m, 5000m) and two G-MAC (800m and 3000m) records broken by Timberwolf athletes. Two athletes also became G-MAC Champions.

Haviland became Northwood's first-ever individual G-MAC Champion. Haviland set the Northwood mile record at 4:03.75 in the process. He also (8:02.40) set a personal, Northwood, and Ryder Center fieldhouse record for the 3000m at the Jet's Pizza Invitational at SVSU. (January 28). He beat the Ryder Center record by nine seconds.

Stickler became a conference champion in the shot put with a toss of 17.28m. Stick gained Second Team All-America honors as he finished eleventh overall during the NCAA Championships via his best toss of 17.26m on his first attempt in prelims.

Northwood's DMR team of EarlHeslipJones, and Haviland earned All-Conference for the Blue and White by placing second at the G-MAC Championships in 9:50.02.
