Six Athletes Earn All-G-MAC Honors For Northwood Track & Field

FULL LIST OF ALL-G-MAC HONOREES

MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood track & field had six athletes earn All-Conference honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tuesday (June 6). The Timberwolves six athletes earned the honor by placing within the top-3 of their respective events at the 2023 G-MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Ashland (May 3-5).

FOR THE MEN

Led by conference title winners Dillan Haviland (1500m) and Travis Schepers (shot put) in earning first-team honors, the men's team had three others earn honors as well, including second-team honorees Sebastian Tesch (hammer throw) and Zechariah Stickler (shot put). Will Nemecek rounded out the members with his third-team honor in the shot put.

The Timberwolves showed out in the shotput during the conference championships, sweeping the podium finishes. Schepers (17.25m) took the crown, Stickler (17.15m) placed second, and Nemecek (16.81m) third. 

Haviland's second first-team honors came after winning his second G-MAC title of the calendar year, this in the 1500m. His 3:44.52 finish set a new personal, school, and G-MAC record during the event.

Tesch's 61.47m toss on his second toss of conference championships moved him into second on NU's all-time hammer throw list, which was seventh-furthest in DII at the time and earned him second-team honors 

FOR THE WOMEN

Emily Coulter represented the women's track & field team. Coulter earned second-team all-conference honors for the javelin throw. Coulter's performance at the conference championships watched her surpass the previous mark on five of her six throws, including two eclipsing the 40m mark. Her final toss of 41.27m officially made the record hers as she took silver and second-team all-conference honors.
