RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams opened the 2017 season at the Calvin Knight Invite Saturday (September 9).

INSIDE THE MEET

  • The men's cross country team placed 11th out of a 22-team field. Calvin was the overall team winner with 31 points, followed by Grand Valley St. with 109 points.
  • The Timberwolves were led by junior Dylan Rocha, who completed the 8k course in 27:05.6 to finish 69th overall.
  • Freshman Brian Patrick and junior Caleb Barker finished as NU's No. 2 and No. 3 runners on the day. Patrick and Barker placed 80th and 91st respectively, posting times of 27:17.6 and 27:28.1
  • The women's team finished 22nd overall. Grand Valley St. won the women's meet with 63 points, closely trailed by second-place Aquinas with 68 points.
  • Freshman Madison Brooks finished at the No. 1 runner for the Timberwolves, crossing the line in 21:01.4 for 128th place.
