Dillan Haviland Earns GMAC Athlete Of The Week Following Performance At The Northwood Invitational
INDIANAPOLIS, IN. - Junior Dillan Haviland (St. Johns, Mich.) has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Haviland joins the likes of Max Gonos (football) as only the second Northwood University athlete to earn an Athlete of the Week honor via the GMAC.
His race led the Timberwolves to a second-place finish in their first home meet of the season. He ran a personal best time of 18:25.5 in the 6,000-meter race to earn first place. Haviland was the overall winner by 17 seconds in the event, which featured 72 competitors.
Northwood's men's cross country team will return to action at the Raider invitational hosted by Grand Rapids Community College on September 17. Races are scheduled to be run at the Gainey Athletic Complex and begin at 11 AM.
