Full USTFCCCA Midwest and National Rankings
NEW ORLEANS, LA. - The Northwood men's cross country team landed in the No. 29 spot of the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II Men's Cross Country rankings. The USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll was released Wednesday (November 9).
For the fourth week this season, the Timberwolves made the USTFCCCA national list. Northwood, along with No. 13 Walsh, are the only G-MAC institutions that earned this recognition. They also rank No. 7 within the Midwest region and ahead of No. 8 Cedarville, No. 9 Wayne State (Mich.), and No. 10 UW-Parkside.
Men's cross country is coming off a runner-up performance at the 2022 G-MAC Championships at Findlay over the weekend (November 5). The Timberwolves finished with 70 points, just behind Walsh with 37.
The Timberwolves exceeded conference expectations, finishing two spots ahead of the preseason poll prediction.
Seniors Dillan Haviland (fourth - 24:35.7) and Zane Aldrich (ninth - 25:08.6 ) earned first-team All-Conference honors with their top-10 finishes, while sophomores Preston Earl (15th - 25:20.8) and Josh Jones (19th - 25:30.2) earned second-team honors placing within the top 20.
As Northwood cross country teams continue their postseason push, they will travel to UW-Parkside on November 19 for the NCAA Midwest Regional meet as both teams look to continue their postseason run. The men's race will now be a 10K (previously an 8K).
