Softball Splits Pair At Tiffin, Clinches Spot In GLIAC Tournament With Game Two Victory

RECAP: Northwood split a two-game GLIAC doubleheader against Tiffin Saturday (April 28). The 3-0 game two victory over the Dragons allowed Northwood to clinch a spot in the GLIAC Softball Tournament.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Tiffin got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI double. The Dragons added to their lead and made it 2-0 in the fifth.
• Northwood tied the game at two a piece in the sixth. A sacrifice bunt by Torriya Gray-Baker advanced runners to second and third, followed by an Abby Joseph RBI single to plate a run.
• During the next at-bat, a fielding error allowed Sydni Culps to reach first safely and allowing Sydni Pauley to score the game-tying run.
• In the bottom of the sixth, a sacrifice fly gave Tiffin the eventual game-winning run to go up 3-2.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood struck first to break the scoreless tie in the fourth inning and did not look abck. Karli Godlewski got the inning started with a single, with Sydni Pauley hitting a two-run home run for the 2-0 lead.
• A run-scoring triple by Godlewski plated Northwood's third run of the game in the top of the seventh.
• The defense did not allow Tiffin to get farther than second base and claimed the 3-0 victory.
