Tara Gross Earns Google Cloud Academic All-District Team Honors

MIDLAND, MICH. – Tara Gross, a junior second baseman on the Northwood University softball team, has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in June.

Gross has been a two-year starter for Northwood at second base. A Second Team All-Great Lake Intercollegiate Conference honoree this season, Gross finished the season batting .351 with 23 RBIs and 31 runs scored. Her 15 doubles this season are the third-most in school history. In her two seasons at Northwood, gross has hit .344. She is a Supply Chain & Operations Management major with a 4.00 GPA.

Northwood had one of its best seasons in recent history this season, finishing 31-26-1 overall, 17-15 in the GLIAC. It marked the most wins for the team since 2005. NU also reached the GLIAC Tournament Championship for the first time since 2004.
