Softball Splits In Florida
OVERVIEW – SOUTHERN INDIANA/ST. CLOUD STATE
SCORES: Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles 2, Northwood Timberwolves 1/Northwood 5, St. Cloud State Huskies 4
RECORDS: Northwood 7-4/Southern Indiana 12-4/St. Cloud State 9-6

RECAP: Northwood softball split a pair of one-run games Sunday (March 8), falling to Southern Indiana 2-1 before defeating St. Cloud State 5-4.
SOUTHERN INDIANA HIGHLIGHTS
- All of the action in the game came at the start and the end. Two batters into the game, Northwood went up 1-0 on a solo home run by Julia Gross.
- Northwood had numerous chances to expand their lead throughout the game, but were unable to expand their advantage.
- With one out in the final inning, Northwood's Shayna Frank had faced the minimum in the circle, with the only hit allowed being cancelled out by a double play. But the Screaming Eagles finished the game with a flourish, hitting back-to-back solo home runs to take the win.

- Northwood took the lead in the first inning when Julia Gross scored on an error.
- The Timberwolves made it 3-0 in the fourth on a Haley Frank two-run single.
- That inning started a stretch where the teams alternated two-run innings. The Huskies plated a pair in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 3-2.
- Northwood got the lead back to three runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to back-to-back home runs by Maddie Coulter and Julia Gross.
- SCSU responded with two runs in the top of the sixth to make the score 5-4.
- Shayna Frank came in to get the final four outs of the game to earn Northwood the win.
