Steimel Named G-MAC Softball Player Of The Week
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Brittany Steimel was named Softball Player of the Week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (March 11). This is Steimel's second career Athlete of the Week honor and the second for a softball player this season.
Steimel started all six games for the Timberwolves during their half of softball's trip to Florida (March 7-10), leading NU to a 3-3 record overall. The junior went 8-16 at the plate including five home runs, a double, 12 RBI, five runs scored, three walks, and two drawn HBP. Steimel slugged a whopping 1.500, collecting a .619 on-base percentage, and an OPS of 2.119.
Northwood softball is back in action Tuesday (March 12) for games nine and ten of their 12-game stint in Florida with battles versus Southern Connecticut St. at 1:30 p.m. followed by McKendree at 4 p.m.
