G-MAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Emily Cox was named Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (April 1). This is Cox's first career Athlete of the Week honor and the third for a softball player this season.

Cox's dominant season continued last week, going 3-0 as a starter with wins over Malone (March 25), Trevecca Nazarene (March 29), and Kentucky Wesleyan (March 30). The senior went nearly unblemished during the Timberwolves' 10-0 rout of KWC, throwing a no-hitter which was NU's first since March 5, 2022, versus Wayne St. (Neb.). She totaled 19 IP with three complete games while allowing just four earned runs and striking out 20.

She has now won 10 starts in a row and holds an 11-1 record with a 1.05 ERA en route named to the 2024 Tucci/ NFCA Pitcher of the Year Watchlist on Thursday (March 28).

Northwood softball is currently 22-11 overall and 9-3 in the G-MAC and is set to host Cedarville Friday (April 5) in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
