RECAP: Northwood softball headed south to Columbus, Ohio for a doubleheader with the Panthers. The Timberwolves would drop game one 2-1 as the Panthers held on. In Game two, the Panthers shut down the Northwood offense again as the Timberwolves were shutout 3-0.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood opened the scoring via a Madison Jordan home run to lead off the second for the Timberwolves, 1-0 NU.
  • The Panthers tied it by plating the leadoff walk off an RBI double in the third, 1-1.
  • ODU took the lead in the fourth with what would prove to be the game-winning run. A two-out single to center fell to score the Panther runner from third, 2-1 ODU.
  • NU's bats wouldn't manage a comeback as ODU's pitching allowed only two Timberwolf baserunners from the fifth to the seventh inning.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

  • A Panthers solo home run in the second put ODU out in front 1-0 early in game two.
  • Ohio Dominican rallied later in the fourth. A leadoff double to left center and a single put runners on first and third. A sac fly by a pinch hitter made it 2-0 ODU.
  • ODU capitalized on a fielding error at shortstop that extend their lead to 3- 0 in the sixth.
  • NU's offense managed just four hits in game two as the Timberwolves fell 3-0.
