GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Saginaw Valley St. kickstarted their early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, with a two-run home run over the left-field fence, 2-0 SVSU.
  • Northwood responded in the bottom of the first with an RBI double to left field, scoring Ashlyn Lundquist from first, 2-1 SVSU.
  • A solo home run over the left-field fence from Mya Purdy in the fourth extends the lead, 3-1 SVSU.
  • In the bottom of the seventh, a first career homerun for Payton Schafsnitz was struck over the left-field fence, 3-2 SVSU.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

  • Saginaw Valley St. started strong with a double to left center, scoring two runs, 2-0 SVSU.
  • An SVSU single to the shortstop and a stolen base put runners on second and third for SVSU. A single to center sent two runs home, extending SVSU's lead to 4-0.
  • With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first, Chloe Cooper took a hit by a pitch, sending home Ashlyn Lundquist. Northwood added another walk that added another for NU, 4-2 SVSU.
  • A two-out, two-run single up the middle from Saylor Cuthrell erased the deficit, and Chloe Cooper and Abby Robinson scored, 4-4.
  • Moving to the third, Saginaw came rallying back. A single through the left side sent two runners home, 6-4 SVSU.
  • SVSU added an RBI groundout before a two-run home run blew the game open for a five-run lead, 9-4 SVSU.
  • SVSU held the five-run lead into the top of the seventh. A bases-loaded single right through the middle sent runners on second and third home, 11-4 SVSU.
  • SVSU capped their seventh inning with another three-run homer to give them their largest lead, 10.
  • Northwood scored two runs in their half of the seventh to make the final of 14-6. Delanie Gale and Delaney Belding notched back-to-back RBI doubles to right center and down the left field line.
