
Softball Stays Put At No. 9 In Second Set Of Midwest Regional Rankings
FULL NCAA DII SOFTBALL REGIONAL RANKINGS
MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood softball team (26-19, 16-8 G-MAC) was ranked No. 9 for the 2025 NCAA DII Softball Tournament in the NCAA's second set of Midwest Regional Rankings released Wednesday (April 30).
Northwood was ninth in the rankings, with nationally ranked No. 21 Saginaw Valley State taking the top spot. Northwood was one of four G-MAC members in the rankings; No. 17 Tiffin was ranked second, Findlay third, and Hillsdale fifth. 64 teams will qualify for this year's NCAA Tournament, with the top eight teams from the Midwest Region earning a berth.
Postseason action of the NCAA tournament will begin on May 8-10, with the first round regionals on 16 different campuses across the United States. Four teams will participate at each regional site in a double-elimination tournament. The 16 teams advancing from regional competition will participate in a two-team, best-of-three super regional at eight sites.
The next set of NCAA Regional Rankings will the NCAA selection show set for Monday, May 5, at 10 a.m. ET on NCAA.com.
