Track & Field Competes A Three Last Chance Meets Before NCAAs
OVERVIEW
MEET: LAST CHANCE MEETS (May 8-11)
LOCATION: HILLDALE, MICH./ BEREA, OHIO/ ALLENDALE, MICH.
RECAP: Northwood track & field competed in a few different last-chance meets in attempts to qualify for the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships (May 23-25) in Emporia, Kan. The Timberwolves traveled to Hillsdale (May 8), Baldwin Wallace (May 10), and Grand Valley State (May 11).
HILLSDALE LAST CHANCE MEET
- Blake Vier and Matheu Morrison finished second and third in the 110m hurdles. Morrison finished just ahead at 14.27 with Vier at 14.28. The duo was Northwood's only two competitors in the meet.
HARRISON DILLARD TWILIGHT
FOR THE MEN
- Dillan Haviland and Alex Meszaros ran the 1500m. Haviland finished in 3:56.42 while Meszaros finished in 4:09.22, a personal record (PR) for Meszaros.
- In the 5K, Preston Earl ran a 14:48.63 PR, taking eighth. Earl's mark is fifth-best for a runner in NU history.
FOR THE WOMEN
- Sarah Zehr ran a 4:54.45 1500m race taking 30th overall.
- Alyssa Dorn took 27th in the 5K, finishing in 20:01.92.
GVSU LAST CHANCE MEET
- Luke Eros was the lone competitor for the Timberwolves at GVSU's Last Chance Meet. The freshman cleared the U20 United States Track & Field qualifying standard for the discus throw with a 51.80m toss. His PR was 3.79m further than his previous mark.
