Track & Field Competes In The Lone Star State At Texas Relays And Bobcat Invitational
OVERVIEW – TEXAS RELAYS/ BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
LOCATION: Texas - Austin, Texas / Texas St. – San Marcos, Texas
RECAP: Northwood men's and women's track & field sent a contingent of Timberwolves to the Lone Star state this week (March 27-29) to compete at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.
INSIDE THE MEET – TEXAS RELAYS
- 2025 Indoor All-American Will Nemecek began his outdoor season in the shot put. Nemecek placed third in the Shot Put B Final, setting a new personal record of 17.53m during the event. His outdoor mark is now second all-time in program history. This is currently the sixth-best mark in DII this season.
- Diogo Vaz took 51st overall in the men's 100m heats. He finished in 10.92 during heat 10 of the competition.
- Matheu Morrison took 31st in the 110m hurdles, finishing in 14.55.
- Owen Hager placed 30th in his section of the 110m hurdles, finishing in 14.84. His mark makes him tenth on NU's all-time 110m hurdles list.
INSIDE THE MEET – BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
FOR THE MEN
- Nemecek took fourth during the Men's Shot Put Section A event. His best mark hit 17.46m on his second attempt. Nemecek cleared the NCAA provisional mark at both meets in Texas.
- Vaz ran the 400m during section B of the event. He took seventh with a time of 49.93. A mark just outside of Northwood's all-time top-10.
- Morrison and Hager competed in the hurdles. Morrison took 24th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.41. Hager placed 38th with a new PR of 59.64 during the 400m hurdles.
FOR THE WOMEN
- Kelsey Hansen was the lone woman to compete in the events. She competed in three throwing events, taking eighth (41.79m) in the discus section B, 27th in hammer throw (47.13m) section A, and ninth (13.19m) in shot put section B.

- Northwood men's and women's track & field heads to East Lansing and Knoxville, Tenn. Next weekend (April 4-5) to compete at the Spartan and Tennessee Invites.
