
Track & Field Wraps Up Regular Season With Three Events During Last Chance Meet Week

LOCATION: Michigan – Ann Arbor, Mich. / Baldwin Wallace – Berea, Ohio / Grand Valley St. – Allendale, Mich.
RECAP: Northwood men's and women's track & field competed at their final meets of the regular season during Last Chance Week (May 8-11) in hopes of qualifying for the 2025 NCAA DII Outdoor championships at the end of the month.

INSIDE THE MEET - FOR THE MEN
- Matheu Morrison claimed fourth place in the 110m hurdles, clocking a time of 14.09.
- Diogo Vaz posted a time of 21.76 in the 200m, placing ninth overall. His new personal-best is tied for tenth in program history.
- Michael Cook finished fifth in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in 55.34.
- Evan Hurley cleared 1.91m in the high jump to place third overall.
- Omari Hairston recorded a 15.09m toss in the shot put to place fifth.
- The men's 4x100m relay team of Andrew Braman, Arthur Powell IV, Diogo Vaz, and Carson Daniel ran 41.24 to place third overall.
INSIDE THE MEET - FOR THE WOMEN
- Keiyera Johnson placed sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.83. She reset her program record as a sophomore, becoming the only Northwood woman ever to run a sub-15 100m hurdle race.
- Jenna Gaul finished tenth in the 400m hurdles, clocking a 1:06.93.
- Kelsey Hansen took fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.42m. Hansen also competed in and placed tenth in the shot put with a 12.75 m toss.
HARRISON DILLARD TWILIGHT
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE MEN
- Preston Earl (3:52.75), Elliot Carey (4:00.47), and Alex Meszaros (4:13.04) took on Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight meet, running the 1500m. Earl was NU's best finisher, taking ninth just behind his personal-best in his final race as a Timberwolf.
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE WOMEN
- Ariel Warner (2:15.63) and Kaylee Locke (2:17.73) led Northwood in the women's 800m. Warner placed fifth while Locke took 12th in their final races of the season.
GVSU LAST CHANCE MEET
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE MEN
- Matheu Morrison won the men's 110m hurdles competition with a season-best 14.02 mark. The NCAA provisional mark is 21st in DII this season.
- Will Nemecek took second in the shot put, posting a 17.40m toss. Nemecek currently sits 17th nationally with a 17.77m mark set at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet (April 26).
- Diogo Vaz placed 12th in the 100m dash, finishing in 10.96.
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE WOMEN
- Kelsey Hansen competed in the hammer and shot put competitions. She set a new PR in the shot put with a 14.58m toss, the 22nd-best mark in DII this season. In the hammer throw, she took fifth with a 53.82m mark. Hansen is currently No. 15 in the hammer throw this year with the 57.17m toss at the G-MAC Outdoor Championships (April 30).
