Hansen And Nemecek Earn All-America Honors As Northwood Concludes Outdoor Season At NCAA Championships
OVERVIEW – NCAA DII OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOCATION: Colorado St. – Pueblo
RECAP: Northwood track & field sent three participants to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships this week (May 22-24). Kelsey Hansen and Will Nemecek took home All-America honors for the Timberwolves. Hansen became Northwood's first women's hammer throw All-American since 2012.
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE MEN
- Matheu Morrison placed 13th overall in the men's 110m hurdle prelims. The junior ran a personal best, wind-legal time of 13.99. Although he did not advance to the finals, he finished sixth in heat one of the preliminaries and first amongst G-MAC racers.
- Will Nemecek took home Second Team All-America honors, placing 12th in the shot put. His best mark came on his third toss, clearing 17.24m. This is Nemecek's third All-America honor for his career, finishing his career with his first outdoor All-America honor.
INSIDE THE MEET – FOR THE WOMEN
- Kelsey Hansen, the 15-seed heading into the Championships, started the week off earning her first career All-America honor and placing seven spots higher than her seed in the hammer throw. She took seventh with the second furthest throw of her career, 56.89m. She is Northwood's first women's All-American since 2013 and first hammer throw All-American since 2012 (Kristen Cameron).
- Hansen finished the week taking 21st in the women's shot put with a toss of 12.66m.
