Maddie Voelker, Makenzie Todd Earn Honors From The Great Midwest

G-MAC AWARD WINNERS

MIDLAND, MICH. – Junior Maddie Voelker and senior Makenzie Todd earned postseason honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Thursday (March 7).

Voelker earned First Team All-Great Midwest honors, while Todd was named to the Second Team. Voelker also earned the prestigious Elite 26 award, giving to the student-athlete that qualifies for the conference tournament with the highest grade point average.

Voelker turned in a career-season for Northwood, leading the team in scoring (12.6 points per game) while leading the G-MAC in free throw percentage (87.1 percent) and standing eighth in the conference in 3-point field goals per game (1.9). She set career-highs in every offensive category this season and led Northwood in scoring eight times this season. Voelker graduated from Northwood in three years with a degree in Health Care Management with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She currently is earning her Master of Business Administration from the DeVos Graduate School.

Todd becomes the first player in program history to earn All-Conference honors four times in her career. This season, she averaged 11.6 points per game while shooting a career-best 37.4 percent from 3-point range. Todd became the all-time leading scorer in program history this season, currently standing with 1,593 points (128 more than anyone else in school history). She also is the all-time leader in school history with 294 career 3-pointers, 29 more than second place.

Northwood went 20-8 overall in the regular season and 16-4 in the G-MAC, good for a tie for second place overall. The Timberwolves will found out if they have earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament Sunday night (March 9) at 10:30 p.m.
