Women's Basketball Falls To Saginaw Valley In Season-Opener

RECAP: Women's Basketball opens the 2024-25 season with a 70-49 loss to Saginaw Valley Friday (November 8).
GAME STORY
- The most important run of the game came early in the contest. With Northwood leading 6-2, SVSU scored 15 straight points to take the lead for good at 17-6.
- Northwood got the lead down to seven at 19-12 before the Cardinals finished the opening quarter with a 23-12 lead.
- The Saginaw Valley lead grew to as many as 18 early in the second. Northwood put together a run to get within 10 at 35-25 with 2:43 remaining. the Cardinals lead stood at 39-25 at the break.
- SVSU came out fast in the third quarter, scoring the first eight points to push the lead to 47-25.
- Once again, Northwood chipped away at the lead the remainder of the quarter, sending the game to the fourth with the score 52-38 in favor of the Cardinals.
- NU was within 13 at the final media timeout, but that is as close as the Timberwolves would get in the fourth.
- SVSU led by as many as 25 before winning the game 70-49.
