RECAP: Ferris State rides a hot shooting start to an 87-63 win over Northwood women's basketball Wednesday night (November 20).

GAME STORY

  • The key part of the game came right at the start, as Ferris State came out firing from 3-point range. The Bulldogs connected on their first eight triples of the contest, which allowed them to open up a 28-9 lead with less then 2:30 remaining in the first.
  • FSU eventually led 30-13 at the end of the first.
  • The second quarter was evenly played. FSU pushed the lead to 20 on two occasions, but the Timberwolves stay within striking distance. Both teams scored 21 points in the second, which sent the game to the break with the score 51-34.
  • Northwood fought back to cut the lead to 14 at 60-46 with 2:53 remaining in the third before the Bulldogs finished the quarte strong. A 12-2 run the rest of the quarter made the score 72-48 heading to the final quarter.
  • NU got no closer than 21 the rest of the way.
