- Northwood started the game fast, opening the game on a 10-2 run for an early eight-point advantage.
- Ohio Dominican responded with a 14-4 run of their own to take a 16-14 lead after one.
- The ODU run eventually reached 21-6, giving the Panthers a 23-16 lead.
- Northwood fell behind by as many as 11 (29-18) in the second before trailing 34-26 at the break.
- Each team made a quick run in the third quarter – as the Timberwolves came out by scoring nine of the first 11 points to make the score 36-35.
