Women's Golf Places Second At NC4K College Classic

BLACKLICK, OHIO - The Northwood University women's golf team posted its best result of the 2013-14 season Monday afternoon (March 31) at the NC4K College Classic, placing second out of 18 teams.

The event was originally scheduled for 36 holes over two days, but poor weather in the Columbus area shortened the event to 18 holes on one day. Ohio Dominican University served as host for the Tournament, which took place at the Jefferson Country Club.

Northwood carded a team score of 316 overall. Grand Valley State was the winner at 300. Ferris State (319), Ashland (321) and Findlay (321) rounded out the top five.

The Timberwolves had two players earn top-10 finishes. Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.) carded a three-over par round of 75, good for sixth place overall. Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Canada / Newman U.) placed seventh with a round of 76. Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England) and Amee Cox (Liverpool, England) shot rounds of 82 and 83, respectively.

Northwood will compete at the Walsh Invitational April 13-14.
