Women's Lacrosse Picks Up First G-MAC Win, Defeating Lake Erie 18-17

RECAP: Northwood women's lacrosse picks up its first conference win in program history, defeating Lake Erie in a dramatic 18-17 win Friday (April 4).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Lake Erie led 2-1 with under 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter when the Timberwolves finished with a flourish. NU netted the final three goals of the quarter to take a 4-2 lead. NU got a pair of goals from Gabby Wilson in the quarter to go along with goals from Montana Chuba and Emma Volpe.
- Northwood pushed their lead up to 7-4 at the 8:33 mark of the second, but Lake Erie was the better team the remainder of the quarter. The Storm came back to level the score at 9-9 at halftime. NU's goals in the quarter came from Chuba (2), Sam Peterson, Taylor Murrell and Volpe.
- The Timberwolves started the third quarter strong, putting up the first three goals of the period. NU eventually outscored the Storm 5-2 in the quarter to go up 14-11 heading to the final period.
- Northwood came out fast in the fourth and appeared to be in control, scoring three of the first four goals to take a 17-12 lead. But the Storm did not go away, netting four straight goals to get within one at 18-17 with 2:59 remaining. NU held Lake Erie off the board the remainder of the way to earn the victory.
