RECAP: Women's Soccer hosted their first-ever tournament match Saturday (October 29) against Walsh. Northwood was the No. 3 seed as they fell to the No. 6 in the quarterfinal round of the GMAC Tournament.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Timberwolves saw a handful of promising scoring opportunities in the opening minutes of the contest but were unable to convert any into goals.
- In the 36', Josie Nash scored her first goal of the season to put Northwood on the board, sending the ball past the goalie into the lower right corner of the net. Katie Foster picked up the assist as NU took the 1-0 lead.
- The Timberwolves carried the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. NU also held the 4-7 advantage in shots, while being called offside five times.
- A yellow card in the box resulted in a penalty kick goal for Walsh to even the score at 1-1 in the 68'.
- The Cavaliers' momentum would continue as Katie Corrigan capitalized on a loose ball in the area as Walsh took the 2-1 lead.
- Northwood would only trail for 37 seconds before responding to the Walsh goal. Juliana Paoletti's cross found Abbie Fowler as the Timberwolves evened the score at 2-2.
- In wild fashion, Walsh wasted no time, scoring again in the same minute with a goal by Megan Anderson to reclaim their lead, 3-2 WU.
- The Timberwolves were unable to find the back of the net in the last fifteen minutes of the contest, falling to Walsh 3-2 as Northwood's season would come to an end.
