RECAP: Women's soccer got their 11th win of the season with the victory of the Malone Pioneers on Saturday (October 21). This matches the program's most wins in a season since 2002 when the Timberwolves finished 11-4-2 overall.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • A slow first half saw just three total shots from both teams. The Timberwolves did have the edge 2-1, but a penalty kick would be the match's first score.
  • Carly Boyd looked to add an assist to her stats as her cross in the box from the right side caused the Pioneers to foul a driving Mia Thomson in the 18-yard box. On Senior Day, defender, Hannah Jatczak was the penalty taker, scoring in the upper right to put the Timberwolves out in from 1-0 in the 43'.
  •  The Northwood offense picked up right where they left off early in the second half. Brooke Honeycutt's cross from the left side caught Juliana Paoletti's hip, deflecting into the back of the net in the 48'.
  • Malone wouldn't go away easily. The Pioneers cut into the lead with a cross from the left corner moments later in the 55', 2-1 NU.
  • NU's defense would hold on to the one-goal lead over the final 35 minutes for the 11th win of the year. This marks the program's most wins since 2002 and the most conference wins in program history (10).
