Women's Soccer Goes Dancing To The NCAA Tournament For First Time In Program History

2023 NCAA DII WOMEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT FIELD

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's soccer team has been named the No. 4 seed heading into the 2023 NCAA DII Women's Soccer Tournament.

This marks the first NCAA tournament appearance in program history. Northwood earned the automatic bid by winning the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament title over Ashland 4-2 in penalties on Saturday (November 11), claiming the first double in program history.

The brackets were announced Monday night (November 13). The Midwest Regional is split into two locations, with the top-seeded Ashland Eagles hosting four seed Northwood and five seed Cedarville as well as eighth seeded Michigan Tech. No. 2 seed Northern Michigan hosts Grand Valley St. (No. 3 seed), McKendree (No. 6 seed) and Maryville (No. 7 seed).

Northwood's opening match versus Cedarville will be played at Ashland on Thursday (November 16) at 3 p.m. at Ferguson Soccer Field.
