Women's Soccer Announces 2024 Season Schedule

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's soccer team announced their 2024 schedule Wednesday (June 26). The defending Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Champions look for their encore with new pieces and common faces going into 2024.

2024 features an 18-game regular season with a trip to Cal. (Pa.) to open the year on September 8. The schedule features 10 home matches and eight away from Midland. The out-of-conference schedule is filled out with home matches versus Davenport (Sept. 12), Northern Mich. (Sept. 14), and Michigan Tech (Sept. 17).

Reigning G-MAC Coach of the Year, Michael Korhonen, said this about the 2024 schedule. "We are hoping to live up to expectations that last season's success placed upon us. Playing four tough regional games, including two teams (Michigan Tech and Northern Mich.) that reached the NCAA Tournament, will prepare us to hit the ground running in conference play."

As Northwood eyes a repeat, the Timberwolves face a 14-match G-MAC schedule beginning at home with Walsh (Sept. 21) before a big road trip to fellow 2023 NCAA Tournament teams Ashland (Sept. 26) and Cedarville (Sept. 28). The complete 2024 schedule can be found HERE.

2024 will see some common faces back on the Northwood squad. Seniors Brooke Dolkowski, Brooke Honeycutt, Stephanie O'Keefe, Audrey Rademacher, and Sydney Rizo look to lead the Timberwolves. Korhonen says the Timberwolves, "- will be relying on our senior leadership to help navigate us through a tricky schedule." Key juniors Carly Boyd, Ava Kettler, Tess Williams, Mia Thomson, and Reagan Brengman also look to help fill out the lineup.

Northwood finished 2023, 15-4-3 overall and 12-1-1 in the G-MAC, winning the regular season and tournament titles while making the first NCAA tournament appearance.

The Timberwolves begin 2024 on Sept. 8 with a matchup with Cal (Pa.) at 2 p.m. at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility in California, Pa.
