RECAP: Women's soccer began their 2024 season at California (Pa.) Sunday September 8. The Timberwolves picked up from where they left last year's historic season with a 2-1 victory over the Vulcans.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwoods offense pressured early, scoring in the 8'. The Timberwolves' first goal of the season came in spectacular olimpico fashion from Carly Boyd during NU's first corner.
• Northwood continued the hot start, controlling possession throughout the first 15 minutes. They then capitalized off their fourth corner very early in the ball game. Boyd found Brooke Honeycutt for the header to go up 2-0 in the 11'.
• The Timberwolves held the 2-0 lead until the 82' when the Vulcans scored on a long ball from 25 yards out over the outstretched NU goalkeeper.
• The Vulcans managed just one shot over the final 8 minutes of the match as the Timberwolves opened 2024 with a 2-1 win.
